Absolutely loved my print. The depth and details are spectacular and the quality of the print is fantastic. I framed this in a white frame and didn't have the exact size handy so kept the lower space intentionally open. I love how it came out.

I bought this for a friend who lived in France for many years. Now that she is back in the states she misses France her favorite country. When I spoke with her on the phone she absolutely loved it. It showed all the places she lived or visited. She loved that it had an antique flair. She is getting it framed when she can. This my gift for her to bring up her spirits. She has stage 4 cancer. We live in 2 different cities & are comrades & would do anything for each other. When I saw it in the website I knew I had to buy it. Great work. A big thank you for your talent & putting out there to buy your beautiful map!!!

This was painted for a 1776 celebration calendar. As art director in an ad agency that was heavily involved in aviation, a major printing company asked me to do a calendar that would express the advance of transportation in the United States. It was to show my actual experience in travel. I had flown twice in the Ford tri-motor airplane when Island Airlines owned three of them serving the Lake Erie Islands. I changed the livery to American Airlines as they used them pioneering trans-continental air travel. I cruised the Ohio River twice on the Delta Queen steamboat so I was qualified to paint her when she and her sister were plying the rivers of California. Last was the steam engine. My father and grandfather worked for the N&W and I had been drawing their engines from around the age of seven. I left the river space for the printer to glue the tear-off day by day calendar in place. The original is still available for...

Frank L. Hunter... Portsmouth Ohio... the world to Tampa Florida What you see on this site is my "arto-biography".. Almost all illustrations in these galleries tell the story of my life. That is what an illustration does. On these sites you will find my birthplace, my travels, my loves and my friends. After more than fifty years in the advertising art business (or commercial art, as it was once called), I retired in 2007 and commenced to assemble past works and illustrate my life. I am a native of Portsmouth Ohio, and one of my galleries on this site is devoted to that city. I can honestly say that in each of my works, "I was there". I received fine art training at Ohio State University and then went to work for a major advertising art...
