"Double Perched Delight" photographed by Robin Erisman. I photographed this set of barred owls while out taking photographs at James A Reed Wildlife Area, in Lee's Summit, Missouri. These owls were in trees next to a pond and they flew back and forth between different trees while I was there. Barred owls usually hunt by night, but at times will be seen during the day hunting, as I seen them do this day. These owls watch for their prey from a perch. The barred owl will normally lay 2-3 eggs, rarely 4. The young owls usually will take their first flight around six weeks. The diet of a barred owl consists mainly of small mammals. They eat mice, squirrel, rabbits, opossums, and other small mammals. They will also eat birds, frogs, salamanders, lizards, snakes, and some insects. Also they will eat crayfish, which was what they were getting this day. The habitat for barred owls is woodlands, wooded river bottoms, and wooded swamps. They like dense and thick wooded areas.
My name is Robin Erisman and I have always loved looking at all the beauty God has created around us. I wanted to capture a glimpse of that beauty, and so became my interest in photography. As a photographer I enjoy looking for the unusual in the usual, that small thing that seems to stand out to me. On a personal note I have a wonderful family that I adore, and they help give me inspiration with my photography. **Robin Erisman Photography has had front cover photographs on the October Lifestyle Magazine in the Leewood, Kansas Lifestyle Magazine and the Johnson County, Kansas Lifestyle magazine. Featured in these magazines, plus the Lee's Summit Lifestyle magazine, are also multiple other photos. ***NOTE: The "Fine Art...
