The rustic boards and burned wooden door at the back of this Barkerville historic building caught my attention. It seems like an odd place to leave the firewood.

I am a graphic designer by day and a photo enthusiast by dawn and dusk. Why the geometry of an old bridge or the tilt of a rusty door jamb captures my attention, I don't know. I only hope I'm not the only one drawn to the lonely and broken objects that dot the landscape of our busy lives. Mies van der Rohe once said "God is in the details".
