Sculpted in 1923 by Herman Matzen, the Angel of Death Victorious is the most famous marker in the Lake View Cemetery. The six foot, 1500 pound bronze angel sits on his massive granite throne at the gravesite of Francis Haserot, hands folded atop an upside down torch. Some say the angel is crying for those whose lives he's extinguished.
I am a student of light. Fascinated by the intricacies of light and the subtleties of shadow. While I explore the many facets of photography and subject matter, I always return to Fine Art and Still Life. Properly done, a Still Life image can transport you to another place, another time, another emotion. The still life and fine art images contained on these pages represent my passion. For me, photography is about visualization and is an outlet for my creative side. Oh my Apparently there are several cemeteries with this same name. I am saddened. So far away.

I get why you named this piece what you did but in all fairness (I believe) angels such as this were actually meant to guard the soul against evil by the people who buried them. That said this is a beautiful piece. The photographs of this place have inspired me to go to there as it is not that far from me. I'll make a day of it and get some really great work done. Thanks for your post.
