The skyline of a city is like a fingerprint, unique and as easily identifiable as a country's flag or a national symbol.
Chicago is known world-wide for its progressive architecture. It holds one of the world's tallest buildings, some of the first in the art-deco movement, and many other unique and dramatic design choices in its buildings. The city went through a very early high-rise construction boom that lasted from the early 1920s to the mid-1930s, during which time 11 of the city's 91 tallest buildings were constructed.
