An original 40” x 30” painting, Main Street Marion, has been donated by the artist and will be the highlight of the event’s silent auction. All proceeds from the auction shall benefit the Marion Unit 2 Scholarship Program.

Several works by the artist, including both original and limited edition prints, will be available for purchase during the event.

Pianist Tom Novara will be contributing his musical talents to the evening’s festivities. “Troubadour,” a local dramatic organization, will be adding to the nostalgic theme of the evening featuring 1950’s/1960’s characters and car hops to enhance the auto themed event. The group is planning several musical numbers as well as other entertainment to add to the fun.

Sugar Baby’s Cakes in Herrin, Illinois shall provide baked goods, punch and coffee during the show.

About the artist:

Shawn Vincelette, founder of Bugaroo Studios, has had a lifelong relationship with the world of art. His journey began in 1988; upon receiving a total of five Scholastic Art Awards at the Annual Regional High School Art Show held at the Mitchell Museum in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. One of these awards was

the “Hallmark Award for Artistic Excellence”; the “Best in Show” award for the entire region. The piece chosen to receive the Hallmark Award is a linoleum block print of the Willis Allen Home. As a result, Shawn was also awarded the Frances McLarken scholarship for the Savannah College of Art and Design.

While a student at SCAD, Shawn opened "Nuovo Art Gallery" in the historic district of Savannah, GA.

In 1990, Shawn completed the Architectural Fellowship through the American College of Rome; a three

month program that spanned seven cities; Zurich, Milan, Florence, Pisa, Rome, Padua and Venice. The Fellowship offered a focus on restoration of masterpiece works of art and sculpture housed in the gallery as well as the vaults of artwork in storage. During this time Shawn also organized an off campus group show featuring 15 artists and approximately 75 pieces ranging from pastels and painting to mixed media and sculpture.

Since graduating from SCAD, Shawn has continued to work in the art domain; both independently as well as for major corporations. He founded the Vincelette Collection Art Gallery in the Virginia Highlands area of Atlanta, GA (1994); as well as Enunciate Marketing and Design (2001) and Mini Mobile Media (2002). Shawn also served as Creative Coordinator of Macy’s South. Bugaroo Studios was founded in 2006; producing original prints and paintings as well as custom commissioned designs.
