DJ Hask joind fine art america on March 2, 2014. DJ Hask is an artist who uses mixed media and digital art to provoke a viewer’s conscience and to advocate for expanded civil rights. He is a Bellingham native and has just returned to live in Bellingham after being away for the past 25 years (in San Francisco and Washington, DC).

DJ is best described as a social-conscious artist who shines a light on the hypocrisy displayed by our political and business leaders. He blends street art with current events to show why the public has to be vigilant in their oversight of government agencies and politically connected officials. He uses thousands of individual 'mosaic' photos in his art to show why one needs to "dig deeper" and look at the facts that usually go hidden to the public eye.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: DJ Hask is now selling all of his artwork at no profit. Repeat - he does not make a dime. He wants the public to have access to his work even if that means he will not make any money. He believes it is worthwhile in the long run since society is better off the more citizens there are who are aware of the people of conscience and whistleblowers intent on making the world a better place.

One SHOULD USE the "magnifier" preview feature in fine art america to truly appreciate his art!

His book (by John Doe), 'American Betrayal: A whistleblower's account to expose how the government and its watchdog cheerleaders caused the financial crisis and why the public needs to fight back,' provides a never seen view showing how regulators aided and abetted the financial crisis. The book shows much of the damage from the crisis could have been avoided had regulatory officials performed their duties. Essentially, millions of families, investors and homeowners could have been spared the harm caused by the housing downturn and mortgage crisis had his pleas and warnings to government watchdog authorities not been ignored.

Instead of receiving protection granted by Congress, he was silenced by the agency until stripped of all relevant duties. His book shows how the public was steam-rolled by a dysfunctional system that denies Americans the information, support and fundamental protections found in our Bill of Rights and by laws to protect the public. DJ Hask uses his artwork to foster awareness of persons of conscience and heighten scrutiny of harmful actions taken by the government and its watchdogs.

He wants others to know that proceeds from his work will go towards paying his legal bills from being a government whistleblower and for medical expenses for both he and his wife. His wife recently retired and is undergoing treatment for cancer. As the saying goes: "when it rains, it pours." But the sunshine, hopefully, is right around the corner. DJ Hask uses his art as therapy for health related concerns and recommends others consider art in issues affecting health.
