Photography Web Site Launch

April 19th, 2014 - Indianapolis, IN

On Friday, April 25th at 6:00 pm Eastern Standard time (United States), Pete Nunweiler will be launch his own personal photography web site. Pete started his passion for photography in June of 2009 when he took his first photograph on the manual setting of a point and shoot camera that he had with him for his wedding/anniversary trip in the Smoky Mountains. He began to play with different settings until he figured out a little about how the different settings worked.

At his feet was a turtle that was walking around, so he figured it was time to test some of what he had learned. "In my mind I thought it would be funny to create an image with a slightly blurred turtle with everything else around it clear, making it appear as though the turtle was moving really fast." It turned out as he planned it and posted called the image "Turtle Racer."

Since then, he and his wife Kris have been learning as much as they can about photography and take great joy in spending time with each other on trips they take shooting waterfalls and landscapes. They joined Fine Art America among other photography web sites in an effort to see what others thought of their work.

After several thousand photographs that they've taken, they have narrowed down the selection. "We used to have close to 200 images posted which included some that were rarely looked at by the photographic artist community on FAA. Once we started to really become proud of some of our work, we deleted most of them, leaving 100 active images on the site at any given time. When a new photo is added, it makes the count 101 and by the next time they are ready to upload a new photograph, the least popular image on the web site is removed so that the permanent count is always 100 and there is always one additional that is on probation so to speak."

"We feel we have really narrowed down our collection to our best 100 photographs and want to share them using multiple avenues." says Pete. "About 5 weeks ago, we started to design our own web site, using a premium version of Wix.com. If you access the site today, the only thing that's available is our home page, a contact link and an 'about us' article. In less than 6 days now, all of the features of the web site will be turned on and published to the public as Nunweiler Photography. We still haven't yet decided on a live YouTube event to introduce the site, but it's being strongly considered."

Pete and Kris Nunweiler specialize in waterfall photography and landscapes of the Great Smoky Mountains, the Dupont State Forest and the Pisgah National Forest. "We sincerely hope you'll visit our site next Friday evening. Share it with others, help us get the word out and above all, please tell us what you think."
