FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Joseph C. Hinson Photography and Joe The Photog Dot Com are pleased to announce that photographs by Mr. Hinson have recently been published in two national publications. The first is a book by Gary R. Carlson called "Carolinas Short Lines" and published by Morning Sun Press. It's the first of two volumes detailing shortline railroads in both Carolinas.

"It's very exciting to be part of this book by Mr. Carlson," Hinson said recently. "There is a rich history of small railroads in North and South Carolina, some fallen flags, but many are still operating, and it's nice to see them get some recognition.

Hinson has four photographs total in this volume, two of the Alexander Railroad and one each of the Pee Dee River Railway and Atlantic & Western.

Morning Sun Books specializes in vintage railroad photography, expertly restored and reproduced on high gloss coated paper in large formats, complemented by historic memorabilia from the featured road, and is the only publisher offering true coast-to-coast, border-to-border coverage of America’s glory years of railroading: the late steam and early diesel period, as well as rolling stock.

You can order the book through the Morning Sun Press web site at http://morningsunbooks.com or Amazon.com

The second publication Joseph Hinson appears in is a special issue of Trains Magazine called "Heavy Hauls," an issue devoted to dimensional loads on railroads. "Some people call them 'high and wides,'" Hinson said, "and I'm pretty lucky that so many of them come through near where I live." Three of the photographs are alongside an article written by Hinson on the GE HArriet turbine which was delivered to the GE plant in Greenville, SC. "I'm excited to have my photographs in the magazine, but the article is really cool. It's nice to see my words in print."

Other photographs appear in the magazine including one of the world's second largest rail car hauling parts for the new nuclear plant in Fairfield, South Carolina and the following photograph of the Blue Ridge Southern.

"Trains Magazine is the leading monthly publication of railroading," Hinson said. "It's to trains and railroading what Rolling Stone is to music, so t's very exciting to be included."

"Heavy Hauls" can be ordered through the Trains web site (http:///www.trains.com) or at your local newsstand.
