June 25th, 2015 - San Francisco, CA

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Kurtis Rykovich: Reverie

Opening Reception: Saturday July 11, 2015, 6 pm–9 pm

Exhibition Dates: July 11 – August 8, 2015

Modern Eden Gallery presents ‘Reverie’ a solo exhibition of new paintings by Kurtis Rykovich.

Exhibition Statement from the Artist: ‘Reverie’ is a collection of gorgeous creatures full of dangerous allure and intrigue. I depicted my muses in close-up portrait style as if they had posed and chosen the composition themselves, carefully casting their companions to represent who they are. They are greatly inspired for my ongoing love of beauty and fantasy, all depicted with a sense of dark appeal to emphasize that nothing is as it seems in any world, real or imagined.

Kurtis Rykovich grew up in rural Nevada and studied Fine Art Painting at University of Nevada Las Vegas. Early on, his imagination was encouraged by his mother who would tell him stories of fantasy and adventure. Inspired by this, a passion for the otherworldly and beautiful developed through his art.

Utilizing a bold color palette and with a skillful hand, the artist portrays graceful and captivating subjects who embody both darkness and light. With a vibrant intensity, they encourage the viewer to let the extraordinary surroundings take over and encounter these beautiful, yet dangerous worlds.

The opening reception for ‘Reverie’ will be held at Modern Eden Gallery on Saturday, July 11, 2015 from 6 pm–9 pm. The artist, Kurtis Rykovich will be in attendance at the reception. The exhibition will be on display through August 8, 2015 and is free and open to the public.
