Western Art Round Up!
The Gladewater Center for the Arts will kick off the second annual Western Art Round Up on Saturday, June 1, and will be shown through June 8 (10 a.m. - 7 p.m. daily) at the Art Elite Gallery, located at 110 North Main in Gladewater, Texas, running concurrently with the Gladewater Roundup rodeo events week.
On Saturday, June 1 (5-9 p.m.), there will be a special reception for all, with refreshments and live entertainment. Tyler artist, Bill Williamson, will be doing quick-draw portraits. Jay Pepper, local artisan of mountain dulcimers, will be demonstrating his music skills. Cowboy Roy will be entertaining us with his vocal stylings. And we'll throw in some surprises to make for some extra excitement.
Plus, you'll get to meet the artists, a Who's Who in our area: David Ackerson, Anup Bhandari, Herb Bryant, John Dietz, Gaylon Dingler, Diane Frossard, Monty Graham, Maureen Killaby, Wesley Morgan, Shawni Nix, Lisa Richardson, Sissy Schneiderman, Karen White, Bill Williamson.
Monies collected from commissions on art sales will go to art scholarships for our area students and to promote all of the arts, bringing beauty, expression and education to enhance our culture in the community. The Gladewater Center for the Arts, Inc. is a 501(C)3 non-profit organization and contributions are tax deductible. This year, two $1,000 scholarships will be presented at the end of May, one to a Gladewater ISD senior and one to a Union Grove ISD senior.
