THE ART OF BICYCLING: Celebrating 30 years

Paint the Town Art Redlands Artist Duo Return in Style for a Classic 30 year Anniversary Celebration of the Redlands Bicycle Classic

The artist known as GretchenArt (Gretchen Hecht) and Linda Weinstock of WeinstockArt Fine Art have collaborated again this year to bring their unique “Paint the Town Art” ™ style to the Art of Bicycling. This year, in addition to the featured "Paint the Town Art Redlands" giclee repaintings, notecards and postcards exclusively at Mozart’s, the artists are hosting an "Art of Bicycling booth" at the Citrus Avenue Souvenir Area of the Redlands Bicycle Classic April 5-6th. They will offer co-created and individually created art and souvenirs related to the Art of Bicycling as well as Paint the Town and Paint on Demand Art samples from their respective initiatives in Redlands, CA and Alameda, CA.

In the spirit of celebrating 30 years of the Art of Bicycling in Redlands Classic style, the artists are offering several new bicycling creations based on photos taken at the 29th annual Redlands Bicycle Classic, when GretchenArt’s “Classic Celebration” painting was featured as the Classic program cover and the original gifted to the show’s sponsor, San Manuel Band of Mission Indians. Additionally, Linda has designed a limited edition mug, some beautiful jewelry and more that make great gifts or souvenirs.

Redlands Bicycle Classic participants and guests in town for the event are cordially invited to stop by the Art of Bicycling Booth at the Citrus Parking Garage Top Level, April 5-6th as well as to visit Mozart’s Fine Gifts, 244 E. Citrus, Redlands, CA for Paint the Town Art Redlands giclee repaintings, notecards, postcards and more.

About the Artists

The Paint the Town Art Initiative was founded in Redlands in 2003 by Gretchen of GretchenArt and joined by Linda Weinstock of WeinstockArt in 2009. The purpose of the initiative is to take advantage of modern art technology tools merged with traditional acrylic, oil and pastel painting techniques to create On Demand original paintings of towns and cities, neighborhoods and the people, pets, landmarks and businesses that make them thrive. Up to 36+ photos are used as building blocks to move trees out of the way, plant flowers even in the dead of winter to recapture the architecture, view, dress mode and more of a former or current time.

GretchenArt has painted many of Redlands Homes, Landmarks, Landscapes and People over the last 11 years. Her Redlands work is carried exclusively at Mozart’s and is available at 1-2 shows per year in Redlands, over Fine Art America for giclee prints, and directly from the artist for Paint on Demand commissions. She is a long-time member of the Redlands Art Association and has the honor of having won several local honors and awards, including the cover of the Redlands Bowl Program (“Family Night at the Redlands Bowl”), the cover of the 29th Annual Redlands Bicycle Classic (“Classic Celebration”) and several 2nd place awards at the annual Multimedia Mini Show. GretchenArt Studios are in Redlands, CA; San Francisco, CA and Georgetown/Austin, TX as well as the World Wide Web. gretchenartfineart.artistwebsites.com/ orwww.gretchenart.com 909-633-1953 cell; 909-794-0372 studio.

WeinstockArt Artist, Linda Weinstock, relocated her home and art studio to Alameda CA in 2009 after living and working as a well known glass artist for 15 years in Redlands. After weeks of immersion in the unique fine art technology Paint the Town techniques pioneered by GretchenArt in 2009, she was hooked on personalized fine art painting and has not looked back since. Linda maintains close ties to the Redlands community that is dear to her heart and still owns property in town. She has taken part in many local activities and is especially fond of being able to translate her photos of local events, such as the Redlands Bicycle Classic, into fine art compositions, together with GretchenArt.

When not active at Inland Empire events, Linda is home in the San Francisco Bay Area working as an integral part of the Alameda, CA Redux Studio & Gallery - artist collaborative, where she has an on site working gallery. Specializing in fine art miniatures and custom art acrylic/ink paintings on canvas as well as Our Town local social, spiritual, musical and political initiatives in addition to her art, Linda is painting the town Alameda and has completed some 40+ Our Town, Alameda Collectibles including several landmarks, landscapes and beautifully detailed historical homes to date, besides her limited edition Pets and local Graphic Arts. With her husband, CPA and musician Ken Weinstock, her 4 beautiful daughters and 10 grandchildren, Linda stays involved and creative every minute of each day. Linda’s work can be found at the Gift Shops of Alameda Hospital and Whales & Friends, Redux Art Gallery Store and Alameda Historical Museum or On Demand as custom art.
