Get some Spring into your step and join us as we feature Laura and Ed at the first Art Walk of 2015 in the historic French Quarter Gallery District on Friday, 6 March from 5 pm until 8 pm. We will be featuring their work the entire month of March.

Laura Cody is a New York City native who transplanted to South Carolina fourteen years ago. The landscape, culture, and especially the people of the Lowcountry significantly influence her art and inspire her to bring the Lowcountry alive in her paintings. This exhibit features many of her portraits, which are always painted in pastel. Cody shared, “I find painting portraits to be very rewarding, and challenging, as I focus on capturing the essence of the people of Charleston.” Laura has achieved national recognition with her artwork hanging in private collections thought the U.S. and Canada.

Ed, a legally blind military veteran, was raised in the Lowcountry among the marshes and waterways East of the Cooper. While Ed has lived away for many years Charleston and his beloved Lowcountry have always had his heart and now he returns to us. Though visually impaired, Ed’s work has received national and international recognition. “I live 100% of my life in 10% of my world but I refuse to let that stop me from capturing the art in the everyday,” he shared. This exhibit features landscapes and architecture throughout the Lowcountry and coastal areas of South Carolina.
