Emily Magone Releases 2016 Winter Collection Of Handpainted Silks

November 2nd, 2015 - APO, AE

A blend of organic designs and soothing tones brings Emily Magone's Winter collections to life this season. Silk infinity scarves, throw pillow covers and narrow neckties are painted in rich, natural hues, exuding a peaceful and uplifting air.

Inspired by a geological palette, rich shades of plum and emerald are combined with subdued tones of dusk blue, sand, pewter and burnt umber, resulting in a lush selection of sophisticated accessories and home decor.

The Reflection pillows are cool and refreshing in shades of plum, dusk blue and umber, with floating islands of contrast on the front side of each pillow in solid black and metallics. The reverse is an organic wash of abstract color.

The Abstracts are a modern collection of silk pillows and narrow neckties handpainted in shades of sand, pewter, dusk blue, turquoise, peach blossom and others. Using marbling, layering and wash techniques, each piece is a truly unique work.

The Woodgrain pillows are the largest of the collections, featuring a handpainted woodgrain design in dusk blue, umber, sand, apple green, peach blossom, pewter and plum. Chic, rustic and stylish.

The Geode and Sediment scarves are inspired by the beautiful layers found in natural formations. The silk infinity scarves are handpainted in shades of dusk blue, midnight, plum, emerald and pewter grey. The large circle scarf can be wrapped and worn multiple ways, making it a versatile and unique accessory.

The Winter collections represent Magone’s focus on the beauty of our natural world combined with her love for luxurious fabrics, skillfully presented in an array of quality materials and soothing colors to encourage you to invite nature in. Each piece is delicately signed by the artist.

Magone, an artist born and raised in NW Montana, currently creates from her studio in Northern England. Her art has been awarded and featured internationally, and she's explored natural beauty all over the world. The Pacific Northwest, along with her NW Montana roots, most heavily influences her dreams and work.

"Each piece is inspired by an aspect of nature that wouldn't leave my mind this past year. The themes here will continue in my acrylic painting work this coming year as well, and I look very forward to bringing those details to fruition in other mediums." says Magone.
