Victoria based photographer, Randy Wachtin, launched a web based gallery today, www.wachtin.com . Featuring his infrared, long exposure photography style, the gallery titled, 'Cascadia by Nature' shares his love for the natural wonder of the pacific northwest.
The gallery features twenty-four original images selected from his photographic archive, primarily of natural scenes captured on Vancouver Island. He has explored the coasts of Oregon and Washington and will be returning in time to photograph their natural beauty in the style he has personally evolved incorporating infrared, long exposure technique in black and white landscape format. Images are well composed sharing the mentally stimulating effect of the environments photographed. Compositions will be added on a regular basis.
From extensive research, Randy has built his gallery two-fold in order to engage a visual representation and incorporate a commercial fulfillment allowing the artist to focus on creative works.
Squarespace is the incredibly rich web-publishing platform Randy chose to present his work in an aesthetic and functional format. The website is responsive, meaning you can view on your desktop and/or your hand held devices without losing the look or feel of the presentation. 'Avenue' template theme was chosen and customized from within the Squarespace publishing environment.
Fine Art America was chosen as the commercial engine to facilitate online ordering of his photographic art. Their reputation as the premier online market place for buying and selling fine art along with ease of integration of their shopping experience into the Squarespace publishing platform won him over.
