The work of Canadian photographer Lochinvar Sturdy is now available for sale online at FIne Art America. A Calgary, Canada native, Lochinvar travelled extensively in the United States before spending a year in Mexico. With a base in Monterrey in the north of Mexico, Lochinvar travelled throughout the country capturing many of the historic sites. In Monterrey, he opened a photography studio in the heart of the old town on calle Matamoros. The studio took the name of the street and Studio Matamoros opened its doors to the locals and visitors interested in portraiture.
In 2010, Lochinvar reclocated and, after a few months in his native land, set off for Barcelona with a five year plan to explore European photography techniques and to delve into the history of European painting and sculpture. Barcelona has proved to be an inspiration for his photography. The city itself dates back to Roman times and has seen many of the dramatic changes to the art world over the centuries. What has really captured Lochinvarīs attention is the Art Nouveau movement popular between 1890 and 1910.
