Unique Museum Opening For NYC Photographer Miriam Danar

August 24th, 2014 - New York, NY

NYC-based photographer Miriam Danar has been invited to exhibit her photographs at the Museum of Arts & Culture (the MAC) at New Rochelle High School in New Rochelle, NY this fall, with an open house for the public and alumni on Saturday, Sept. 20th. The MAC is a program of the New Rochelle Fund for Educational Excellence and is the only Regents-chartered museum in a school in the State of New York, providing an on-site museum experience for students and serving as a cultural asset for the community at large.

A graduate of New Rochelle High School, the Rhode Island School of Design, and historic Art Students League, Miriam exhibits in NY, Los Angeles, and online. Her Patch network galleries appear throughout the Eastern US, and she has been interviewed on radio and television about her urban photography. Although she has been a docent at the RISD Museum of Art in Providence, RI, this is her first exhibit in a museum with the focus on her own work. Her work has also just been featured by the new New York Museum of Contemporary Art in Manhattan.

Miriam's photography follows two paths: black and white street art a la the famed Magnum photographers of "Life Magazine," and "cut-glass," colorful cityscapes of New York reminiscent of stained glass. She encourages visits to her page at Fine Art America, pixels.com, Artist Websites, and her just-launched new website, Focal Point Photography:
