Heart Of Ybor Contest Committee Choice Award 2023

WAITING ON THE TROLLEY takes you back to the heyday of Tampa, Florida's streetcar system. The TECO Line Streetcar System again traverses the City of Tampa's downtown area where you can ride these replica streetcars for free.
This drawing was done in colored pencil on Stonehenge paper. The trolley is sitting at the end of the line in Ybor City, the passenger is waiting for the conductor to finish switching the electric connection to return to downtown Tampa.
Starting in 1892 streetcars whisked passengers to and from Ybor City, Ballast Point, Hyde Park and Sulphur Springs. The bright Birney Cars were a welcome sight as well as the clang of the bell. Their time ended in 1946 after World War II but in 1984 the Tampa & Ybor Railway Society worked to get the streetcars rolling again.

Photographer, artist and former educator Arthur Miller takes photos from his collection to walls of Breaker Brewing Company Wilkes Barre TWP. PA. Luzerne County
Parsons native Arthur Miller started collecting old photographs as a high school student in the early ’60s. He’d visit antique stores and Salvation Army locations to hunt for photos of coal miners, coal breakers and other subjects related to the industry. As he got older, Miller expanded his hunt to glass negatives and original prints. He estimates his collection of negatives at over 5,000 with a majority of the images taken locally.
“My father was born in 1898,” Miller said.” When he was 11, he went to work as a breaker boy and he stayed in the mines his whole life; I don’t think he ever worked outside of the mines. His father before him was a coal miner and his father before him was a coal miner, originally from England. That’s the main reason, but of course, coal was the valley. It was the...
It Was A Proud Moment For The Creator, Artist Arthur Miller.

FROM THE WYOMING VALLEY TO AFRICA, WITH PRIDE
ONE AFTERNOON, A U.S. STATE DEPARTMENT TRUCK PULLED INTO THE BREAKER BREWING COMPANY PARKING LOT ON NORTHAMPTON STREET IN WILKES-BARRE TWP.Government workers went into the brewery, expertly dismounted a 24-by-36-inch matted, glazed and framed piece of digital photographic art from the brewery wall and lovingly crated it for the first leg of its trip to Burkina Fasou, West Africa, where it will be hung in the official residence of United States Ambassador Sandra E. Clark.
It was a proud moment for the creator, 75-year-old artist Arthur Miller. Commercial photography was a livelihood for Miller for decades, but not a passion.
“I really did commercial work to support my interest in art,” he said in an interview one afternoon at Breaker Brewing Company, where his photographic art is on permanent display.
The artwork Clark selected is described as “a semi-impressionistic view of Frances Slocum State Park,...

In the ethereal realm of pixels and hues, a digital masterpiece unfolds – "Women with Hat." Amidst the canvas of code and creativity, an enchanting portrayal emerges, encapsulating the essence of femininity, strength, and enigma.
Beneath the gentle strokes of virtual brushes, a woman adorned with a hat takes center stage. The hat, a crown of allure, casts shadows and whispers secrets, its brim a veil between worlds – a portal to her enigmatic soul. Each brushstroke, an ode to emotion, captures the delicate interplay of light and shadow upon her visage, revealing a narrative untold, a journey yet unveiled.
Her gaze, a universe in itself, speaks volumes through the digital tapestry. In those eyes, one discovers the depth of dreams dreamt and battles fought; a silent symphony of resilience and vulnerability. The colors dance and meld, painting the symphony of her existence – vibrant reds echoing passion, serene blues mirroring introspection, and soft golds whispering...

LANCASTER, SC – Bob Pardue, published South Carolina photographer, announces the Old Masters Vintage Art in a Circle project. Pardue has taken iconic works from the Golden Age of Painting and transformed them into striking circular compositions that are available as premium fine art prints.
The Old Masters Vintage Art in a Circle project is inspired by Pardue’s admiration for the paintings of the Golden Age. He has selected masterpieces from da Vinci, Mucha, Monet, and others, to be part of the endeavor.
Pardue then takes each painting and creates a modern composition consisting of a circle placed around the original work. The circle encloses the painting to create a new visual experience that lends a sense of dynamism to the classic scene.
Pardue has said of his project, “My artwork is all about combining my respect for the great masters of painting and utilizing my skill as a photographer to enhance their timeless designs.”

I live and work in the Northwest. But I've traveled to many beautiful places around the world including countries in North and Central America, Europe, and Australia. I also lived 10 years in Hawaii. But I must say, I think that some of my best art seems to come from around my own neighborhood. It is amazing what ‘beauty’ can be found close to home. Over the years I've created a large body of photographic "fusion" work that is published on FAA and can be purchased in a variety of forms. I hope you will check out my art out and consider purchasing a piece.
I am very blessed in that my work has been shown at The Center for Fine Art Photography – Denver, Marks at the Garage – Honolulu, the Dunville Gallery – Seattle, the Larson Gallery – Yakima, Gallery 8 – Phoenix, Collective Visions, and other venues. Awards have included a ‘Silver’ award from Create Chaos and purchase awards from juried shows. I am thankful that my art has been purchased by many collectors and...

Experience the distinctive ways that Stephen Kaltenbach, the great pioneer of conceptual art, transmutes space for two unique, site-specific projects. His construction of a world-famous room design from the 1960s will complement a floor-to-ceiling, assemblage collaboration with artist, Seongmin Yoo. The exhibition will be open from August 30 to September 30. The opening reception will take place on September 2 at 7 PM, and it will feature free music and refreshments.
The John Natsoulas Gallery is thrilled to be hosting the newest exhibition of Stephen Kaltenbach’s space altering, installation art. Over the course of his career, Stephen Kaltenbach has been a critical voice in Conceptual Art. Never limiting himself in his practice, Kaltenbach has explored countless media in order to pose, and occasionally answer, questions about the fundamental definitions of art and the greater meaning of life. As a graduate student at UC Davis, studying ceramics and painting at the height of...
