A travesty that I'm the first commenter on this. Beautiful...the contrast moves throughout th piece, in addition to the color on the fenders. How did you find this place? I'd like to know more. I read your description, below, but would like to know the full story if you have time. As a painter, I'm having a little envy over this piece. .

Otis (Mr. Stanley), I'm glad that you found my "Visage Four" study inspiring. I really like this "Tribute to Jacob Lawrence." The composition is wonderful with a nice sensibility of space and great color - even the upper top left yellow "sliver" of color is perfect and needed. Only the finest artist would sense that, as you did. Emery.

Hi Carol, I love this photograph.Thank you for your comment. Mirjana.
Posted on 10/27/2009 at 09:55 PM
Your drawings are really good. Keep it up, And do more...a lot more. Our oldest son was stationed at Fort Collins as a tanker. Anyway, I really like your artist ability and think you should do a lot more. Try #2 pencil, I think it's the hardest to master and you have what it takes. It is the most rewarding too...at least it is for me.
Posted on 10/27/2009 at 09:52 PM

Posted on 10/27/2009 at 09:24 PM
Nice work! This painting is really focused. Water is lovely.
Posted on 10/27/2009 at 09:05 PM
It was originally painted when 24 years old. I recently sold a copy of 11" x 17" card stock image of Many Miles Away to an old friend! I told him it got its title from a lyric by Sting (the Police group singer of pop fame) about the same. It is about as close as I might get to doing pop icons as designs for county fair amateur art shows as for now too. Too bad for those who need as much! At least I have addressed the whole pop and fame followings as so with a one very obscure but highly imaginative treatment of something you might find as on a Billboard songs album for mass production? It is there and back again for now Sting! But no bag to find as much for a Mr. Baggins? Any thing less by my imagination would not do much justice as so? SO ENJOY IT!

Beautiful shut Cranky. I have done a painting of your goat with Mt Rainier in the background. It's on my site. I hope you will like it. I worked really hard on the goat to make it look real. I should have added more contrast to it's fur. Your goat picture is my most favorite goat picture I have ever seen. Yoy do Excellent work Cranky. I do hope to see alot more your work.

Superb piece. Very nice composition.

Your work always set a beautiful mood, and stirs emotion. This is my favorite. We push against the truth, try to make it we want, get others to see it when they can't. We do all this, when it's always just sitting right there, as is.
Posted on 10/27/2009 at 05:48 PM
Yes, nice to see this one again!

The beautiful reflection of the Jersey shore in the painting is outstanding. To ask the question "Jump or Dive" has to come from one who has spent many hours at the shore, probably body surfing. My husband Rick, past photo editor at Surfing East magazine, loves your painting.
