About this Group
With a deep seated passion of mine to run around and photographing wild lizards in the USA. Reptiles in general are of interest however this group will be focused on Lizards of North America, Previously 'Lizards of the United States.'
I'm purely a Photographer but any Lizard (identifiable as US based) art will be accepted. I do ask that in some part of the Description, Key Words, or Title has the name of the lizard depicted. Better still would be the scientific name and region the image has been taken at, such as State, or County. Some varieties differ between counties so that info could be helpful in identification. However the need to keep locations of some colonies safe I understand the removal of said info, so only State is required in the labeling.
ONE IMAGE Per Day Please
UNTIL A NUMBER OF IMAGES NEEDED TO FILL UP A PAGE, THE BASE AMOUNT UPLOADABLE HAS BEEN INCREASED TO 5 PER DAY.
Features: Every few days (at least) I'll sort through submitted images, adding or removing them from the group. Featured images will be based on image quality as well as species rarity. Some rare shots may win out if you just don't see these guys in photos. As for Art pieces I'll be looking at unique depictions and quality/interest of the piece of work.
Discussions may include field herping tips for those going into the wilds looking to 'hunt' these lizards in their own homes.
Personally I have been into US based reptiles for over 40 years. Taking amateur photos for 30years and serious photography now for 3 years. My goals are to photograph a whole regions worth of one group, which may be quickly figured out by my own additions here.
Listing of Species names will be built over time. Names change over time and will be added as I become aware of them.
