Flower Mania

BUYERS: This group is for any image that predominantly depicts a flower or floral concept. A review of the rules for our members will convince you that any piece of artwork exhibited on this site after October 29, 2018 will be of excellent quality.

RULES FOR MEMBERS: The rules that follow are consistent with the Fine Art America (FAA) rules for artists, modified to be consistent with the goals of this group.

1. THEME: The theme, Flower Mania, suggests an excessive enthusiasm for flowers. Your submissions, for the most part, will probably be unretouched photographs of flowers. However, if your enthusiasm gets the best of you and you “go crazy” with photo-editing software, that’s OK; but at the end of the crazy, your artwork must end up looking like a flower. Remember, your buyers visit this group to find images of flowers.

2. IMAGE SIZE: A 16” x 20” image should be 2,000 x 2,500 pixels. We set that level as a minimum size but prefer 2,880 x 3,600 or higher. Remember, images that appear on FAA websites are low resolution images to facilitate quick loading and to prevent image theft. Accordingly, we recommended that you select the Full Resolution Preview option when you submit an image. By doing so, the buyer can examine portions of the image in full resolution to help in the decision to buy the image.

3. FEATURED IMAGES: FAA recommends that featured images number 30 or less so the page can load reasonably fast on slower connections. Accordingly, this group administrator will add a few of the best images of the day and remove a few of the oldest ones. This gives exposure for approximately two weeks. (Remember that the additional search point stays with the image, even when removed from the home page.)

4. RECIPROCITY: Reciprocal activity is strictly forbidden. As good art community citizens, we should compliment the quality of other artists’ work without expecting a compliment in return; and the person being complimented should not have the pressure of feeling that a reciprocal complement is expected. Artists, please review the featured images and like, favorite and/or comment on them, expecting nothing in return except the satisfaction of knowing that you have been a good citizen in the art community.

5. SUBMISSION RATE: One image per day may be submitted for inclusion in the group and be eligible for inclusion on the home page as a featured image.
