About This Group
This group is for images that have won First Place in contests of any media on FineArt America on their own merit (with no vote solicitation). Please upload your winning images to the group. Please post in the discussion board the name of your first place winning image, the name of the contest and the URL to the winners page. All ties for first place will also be accepted.
For visitors to this page, you will see some of the best images and artwork that FineArt has to offer. Please also take a look at not just the Home Page Featured images, but also those that are included in the link to all images.
The Group Avatar is Under the Old Apple Tree, courtesy of Theresa Tahara. This image was chosen from a group-sponsored contest that ended 05/12/13. If you are interested in purchasing this image, here is the link: http://fineartamerica.com/featured/under-the-old-appletree-theresa-tahara.html

UPDATES - MEMBERS PLEASE READ
Contest Images:
Please note that due to recent changes in contests, when viewing the images in a contest, the full image does not appear. In order to see it properly, one must click on the image while in the voting screen. Please take note when voting.
Vote Solicitation:
FineArtAmerica does not endorse vote solicitation in their contests, and has recently made some changes to remove the link of the artists names to the images in the contests in order to curtail vote solicitation. Unfortunately, this has not really helped because it is still too easy to copy and paste the link into social networks.
Effective June 1, 2012, members and images will not be accepted into this group when there is obvious vote solicitation in contests, unless FineArtAmerica has endorsed this, like they did for their recent TV contest. Current members are also affected by this mandate in this group.
Effective June 6, 2012, members who have come in Second Place in a contest where the person running the contest received the First Place slot will be considered as also having won the First Place slot as well in that contest. This is something that I have done for the contests that I have run and received First Place on, and think that it is a fair thing to do for all. :)
