Description
There was a corn field not far from my house that was harvested just recently. The stalks and ears of corn are gone but a lot of the dry leaves still lay on the ground. That is until a whirlwind comes along, picks them up and takes them on a journey. I have seen columns of swirling corn stalk leaves hundreds of feet in the air, for all the world flying like birds, dipping, diving and sailing; enjoying their brief freedom from the earth. That is what this painting is about. The end of one season and the beginning of another.

This is such a fine and special painting, Bob! Superb chromatic, such refined accents of color, such an intense impression... I am always so impressed and amazed by the way you express feelings, moods, atmospheres in your paintings - this is I think most difficult in art. :) LF

You really put me in the middle of a strong wind gust, on a perfect Autumn day. I put up my coat collar and stick my hand in my pockets and walk a bit more briskly to get home. Great painting Bob!
R W Goetting replied:
That is really cool Ginette, thank you for your comments. I very much appreciate it!!

You made the red fall, something that I have in mind to paint whenever I go out to paint but, at the end I end up with something in okra color fall :) This beautiful artwork is inspiring! L

Exceptional painting, Bob ! I never saw another artist to be able to suggest the ineffable blow of the wind through the foliage as perfectly as you do. Magically atmospheric and superb work ! f,l
