Clematis are such beautiful flowers and a total delight to paint and represent in an artistic way. I wanted to really maximise the yellow colors on these and bring about a happy and cheerful representation. Also, despite this work being a watercolor and acrylic I wanted textures! I took my artwork through the scanner and into Photoshop where I layered several textures on top of the flowers to give a chic modern feel to the work as texturing is all the rage at the moment and is such a pleasure to work with.
