Description
Roosevelt elk and children at the Olympic Game Farm in Sequim, WA
This is my favorite candid shot of the joy of discovery between some children and a herd of Roosevelt Elk at the Olympic Game Farm! I felt the wonder and awe they had of each other and I was quite thrilled to capture that beautiful moment!
The Roosevelt elk (Cervus canadensis roosevelti), also known as Olympic elk, is the largest of the four surviving subspecies of elk in North America. They live in the rain forests of the Pacific Northwest and were introduced to Alaska's Afognak and Raspberry Islands in 1928.
