The Shroud is the single most studied artifact in human history. There is no telling if it is, in fact, the burial linen cloth that was wrapped around the Lord Jesus. That is still a mystery. It's interesting how God likes to leave hidden secrets for us to ponder... and then search for the truth. There is also a certain amount of depth to this particular mystery, and could well be an article that was left behind to always keep the question lingering in our minds.
The digital remake has an eerie, yet comforting, feel to it. I had quite a time while composing it and looking for color that would bring out the elements and leave it with an old world quality. It made me have a greater understanding of where the traditional renditions of Christ have their origins.
When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, "Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?" So they said, "Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets."He said to them, "But who do you say that I am? Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."Jesus answered and said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven."
