Description
"Walk The Pier" by Kathy Liebrum Bailey
The long pier at Leesylvania State Park is inviting for a walk or for fishing.
Leesylvania State Park is a 542 acre park located in Prince William County, Virginia/ The park is nestled on a peninsula bordered by the Potomac River, Neabsco Creek and Powells Creek. It was once the home for Native Americans who inhabited the land for thousands of years. In 1608 Capt. John Smith visited the area and it was also the home for the Lee and Fairfax families. Today the park is visited by many who come to hike the trails, fish, canoe, kayak, play on the playground, picnic, take photos and just enjoy the outdoors. They have a visitor center, gift shop, rentals of canoes and kayaks, playground and a great fishing pier.
