No matter if you read any meaning into this or not - it's just a beautiful image! Lovely tones and light, great capture Michel. L/F

I adore this shot Michel! I read your comment below that it is a doorknob on a street of shrines.. and it immediately brought to mind one of my favourite poems...by Christina Rossetti Remember me when I am gone away, Gone far away into the silent land; When you can no more hold me by the hand, Nor I half turn to go, yet turning stay. Remember me when no more day by day You tell me of our future that you plann'd: Only remember me; you understand It will be late to counsel then or pray. Yet if you should forget me for a while And afterwards remember, do not grieve: For if the darkness and corruption leave A vestige of the thoughts that once I had, Better by far you should forget and smile Than that you should remember and be sad.

Fantastic poem Debra...the twist from remembering to not being sad but to smile, is stunning !! A very uplifting poem Debra ! Thanks for even remembering it !!! 🤗

Not sure I can get the intention from the subject of the image with the abrupt cut off of the statue. Can't quite feel it. But what draws me to this image Michel is the out of focus street and the buildings on the opposite side of the street. Love the tone of it and the light hitting the closest building and working its way down the street.
Michel Verhoef replied:
Oh it isn't a statue, it is a doorknob of one of the shrines at this side of the street. A street of shrines in a huge cemetery. I was trying to give it a sentimental title ! 🤗🤗 thanks dear Joni !
