Vigils White On Blue
Mark M Mellon
Sculpture - Concrete Sculpture
'Vigils' , Latin for Sentinels, are a series of Sculptures cast in concrete and plaster.
This piece reminds me of a sculpture or statue that could be found in some remote land from some lost civilization, stretching high into the heavens with eyes cast towards humanity in surprise.
'Vigil (Blue and White)' i cast in a dyed blue concrete then added finish finish to give a rustic, antique look, then coated with a gloss shellac to seal the piece.
Suitable for display outdoors as well as indoors.
'Vigils' was first sculpted out of clay and then a mold made for casting. The edition of casts is of now open, with currently 8 pieces finished. (4 concrete, 4 plaster.)
This piece weighs 5 pounds.
Measures: 7.5 inches x 7 inches x 2 inches.
Piece will be securely wrapped and protected for shipment.
Shipments will be insured!
Certificate of Authenticity will be shipped with piece with cast number.
**PLEASE NOTE** Even though 'Vigils' are cast copies, each one is unique and has intentional variations between each piece. This way each cast is unique to its own. Scratch marks, cuts, etc are added to each one individually after casting to make it each piece one kind, no two are a like.
