Prinsengracht in Amsterdam is a classic example of the canal lined streets that fill the center of the old city. This was the view from the dorm window when my daughter was there studying Northern Renaissance history. Yes, it was fun to paint and yes..........I would go back there in a heartbeat!!

R/WBob you were "last" on my list of artists to visit this morning ! And how glad I am that it is so because I can tell you that my mouth just dropped open when I saw this fantastic Amsterdam scene. I'm just so fascinated how you get colours to emerge from the darks so that they sparkle furiously and I just love how they do that here on the barges. And then the brickwork is all so beautifully peachy and mellow against the mauve tinged sky. This picture combines peace with much activity and interest and so wonderful to view it all from the "window" above ! v/f
