Description
I shot this photo after camping at Havasu Falls, in Grand Canyon, Arizona. This is Lower Navajo Falls also known as Rock Falls, which was created during the flood of 2008. Capturing this photo made my day, after being bummed about not getting a chance to enjoy a swim in the falls.
My husband and I went camping, for the first time further from our car and I overestimated our carrying capacity. I packed a bunch of supplies and photographic gear intending to photograph properly on a tripod and fantasizing about capturing waterfall moonbows. By the time we got to the campgrounds, the sunset was long gone and our bodies were in pain, lol. After spending more time installing the tent in the dark we gave up on everything and just went to sleep! We could only camp for one night and the second day, of course, all our muscles were too sore to care about swimming. The weather was so humid and hot down there! Slowly, my husband and I packed our bags again and hiked back to the car. It was the most painful hike trip ever! But on the road, I got lucky to see this scene and I immediately started shooting. I didn't even bother to unpack my tripod anymore! I carried all that equipment for nothing *sigh* XD
