Description
Some of the fabulous historic buildings and bridges beside and across the River Tyne, Newcastle upon Tyne, England, UK. Given a little digital alteration to create this orb.
You can make out the famous Tyne Bridge c.1927 - more correctly named the George V Bridge, and which has strong similarities with Hell Gate bridge in New York, and of course the Sydney Harbour bridge in Australia.
In the foreground is the latest bridge - the clever Gateshead Millennium Bridge or "Blinking Eye" - so called because of its tilting movement that allows boats to pass underneath, and which creates an impression of an eyelid opening and closing.
Please note: watermarks on images do not appear on purchased prints.
