Description
TUMACACORI by PRISCILLA BURGERS
This image is of the church at Mission San Jose Tumacacori in southern Arizona. Most images of the church are framed by arches. I chose to lie down on the dirt floor of the mortuary and shoot straight up at the skylight opening. I used the mortuary ceiling and its skylight opening to frame my church image. Tumacacari National Historical Park is located in the upper Santa Cruz River Valley of southern Arizona. The park protects the ruins of three Spanish mission communities, two of which are National Historic Landmark sites. The Spanish Colonial architecture Franciscan church at San Jose Tumacacari dates to the late 18th century. The earlier Jesuit missions that were established at Tumacacari and Guevavi in 1691 are the two oldest missions in southern Arizona.

"Down in the dirt"! What one goes thru to get an outstanding shot. Without a doubt each image would individually be great but combined they are spectacular! Great work, Priscilla!
