... A lovely morning
in the Everglades of South Florida...
The early morning sunshine
illuminates the golden grasses
and grove of cypress trees
on the edge of the swamp.
A lone Florida oak tree stands
on a small island
in the middle of the marsh.
Clouds float overhead
and reflect in the clear
clean shallow water
of this vast lake.
Captured in very
early Spring, the birds
anticipate the warmer days
as alligators start their day
warming in the sunlight.
The blue of the sky
is filled with dawn's
golden light as the sun
climbs higher in the eastern sky.
Welcome to the glades,
a natural pristine
nature preserve in the interior
of the beautiful sunshine
state of Florida...
