Description
Uppsala Castle was central to many important events of European history during the 17th century. It was built under direction of: King Gustav Vasa and originally constructed in the 1550s. In 1757, it was rebuilt, its function becoming more that of a palace than a military building. Later, it was the administrative centre of Uppland and the site of the Hall of State (Rikssalen).
