Description
These are the famous pine trees in my back yard. I decided that they needed to be seen in black and white. I love how this image came out looking like a painting and an antique post card. The white dots in the image are snowflakes that are coming down all around me. I have to say that this is my favorite photograph! Enjoy.

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.

Definitely a real beauty, Liz! So glad you mentioned the full image here (on FB) and love the little (but so big in meaning) bit how the title came to be - lovely all around! :)

I love the snow falling and the branches covered with the white beauty! Wonderfully captured! L

Yes, a good insulator to a certain degree. We don't get much snow in Oklahoma, and the gusty winds in the winter are bone chilling!

Love the effect in black and white!!! Beautiful photo, but not liking the cold weather to come.
Elizabeth Dow replied:
Hi Vicki, Thank you so much! Winter's cold is harsh in Maine, but the snow makes it bearable.
