Description
This is a lonely two track going through the hills of northern Michigan. The painting starts off with a dark shaded foreground and a two track leading right up to the viewer. There is a pine tree to the left foreground casting a shadow unto the tall grass and lane. The scene immediately opens up to an open hillside covered with sunlight. The two track curves around the bottom of the hillside and out of sight. The sunlit hill is covered with bright yellow and green tall grass. Boulders, an orange bush in its fall colors, and a yellow birch tree cast deep shadows on the field and sandy pathway. There are some tall pine trees in the middle ground and the pathway disappears behind them. At the crest of the first hill are some deep green spruce trees and behind them another larger grass covered hill. In the distance another hill with light blue pines due to the atmosphere. The landscape is finished off with a cerulean blue summer sky and billowing midday clouds.
