Description
Jack Sparrow said pirates were an unimaginative lot............not sure about that.......On the island of Tortuga back in the late 1600's, there was a tavern that was a favorite of the pirates. Mostly English, French and some Dutch, these pirates chose Tortuga as a sanctuary from the Spanish and any other country that suffered their..........mischief..........Somehow the tavern called the Faithful Bride" came into being. Built from the salvaged timbers of wrecked sailing ships, it supposedly had a peculiar odor.............the pungent smell of seawater, tar, rotting wood and fish..........Say!......that's a nice mix..........In spite of that or because of it, it was a favorite with the pirates who plied the Caribbean Sea...............This painting has similar characteristics...crusty, rustic, perhaps even a little crude...............smells like oil paint instead of tar, but..........you get the idea...............

Of course your paint application is just delicious. Faithful bride versus lady of the night. Is it the first or 2nd in the window, I wonder. What happens in a Pirates Tavern, stays in the Pirate Tavern :-)
R W Goetting replied:
Love your humor Ginette, that's great!! And, yes, what happens.................stays.........HA!!
