This digital illustration is based on the famous painting by edouard Manet, titled Le d�jeuner sur l'herbe (The Luncheon on the Grass). In my version though I have taken a comical slant and replaced the original figures with cartoon dinosaurs instead. The two, dressed male dinosaurs are engaged in conversation, while the female dinosaur,naked, looks on at the viewer.
The dinosaurs are not technically correct in any way, but are cartoon versions of recognizable types. In the real painting there was no figure on the extreme left, just loose clothes. I thought it would be funny to have a small child dinosaur, dressed in youth dressage of the time, looking as though it had been getting up to no good and spilling the basket over with some food in.
A time lapse movie was also created showing the painting being painted in built up in photoshop. It lasts for under 2 mins.
