Description
The Kittens of Spring by Karen Cook - The cottony soft buds of the pussy willow in the early spring. I love the soft morning sunlight illuminates the soft furry look to the catkins, and enhances the silk threads of a spider web, that seemingly bind the catkins together. The buds are called catkins, and the word catkin is derived from an old Dutch word meaning kitten, as the soft fluffy buds resemble the tail of a kitten. Always a welcome sight, the kittens of spring announce the season of rebirth, regrowth and renewal.
