Description
The Brownstones of Brooklyn -
I captured this image of a row of lovely brownstone homes during a recent visit to historic Cobble Hill, a trendy, historic neighborhood in Brooklyn.
This row of brownstones is part of the Cobble Hill Historic District in Brooklyn, New York. Most of the brownstones were built in the Greek Revival and Italianete styles. The area was originally populated by Dutch Settlers, along with Native Americans. Later on, Italians, Greek and other Europeans moved into the area, making it one of the most diverse areas in New York City.

I am so glad this image brightened your day, Elizabeth! I love Brooklyn as my husband family came from the area! We try to visit the old neighborhood as much as we can. The neighborhoods have changed, but you still find these architectural gems everywhere, which are being preserved for posterity! Thanks so much for your visit and kind comments.

Dora, this image brightened my day! I love the perspective and all the familiar brownstone architectural details. I lived in a garden-level brownstone apartment in Brooklyn, the best apartment of my life and great landlords! l/f
