Description
Lichen Abstract 1 and 2 in my portfolio are also shots taken of the same terracotta pot but time has moved on, the seasons and amount of dampness and it has totally changed. I might be going mad but I could see a partial face in this image with one eye crying and tear drops of lichen falling. The Green Man is a spirit common to many cultures across the world and meaning many different things. I chose The Green Man as spirit of the forest and nature....he must be crying when he sees what damage we have done to his beautiful world and continue to do so through ignorance and greed.
One Hundred Percent of all sales will be donated to Rainforest Rescue. This organisation seeks to protect rainforest throughout the world and the rainforest I choose to support is the Daintree World Heritage Rainforest in far North Queensland. Although the main area is protected, many marginal properties were sold to private hands in the seventies...but were then not allowed to be developed. However the Government has not seen fit to repurchase them so Rainforest Rescue is gradually purchasing key properties, protecting them for ever and restoring any damage. The properties contain rare and endangered species as well as providing vital wildlife corridors between areas of rainforest.
