Description
Winter, the totalling of the year, has many dimensions. It is more than a season bounded by a soltice and an equinox, more even than snowstorms and icebound lakes and wind roaring down from the Artic tundra. It is primitative forces at work, cleansing and clarifying the earth. But it is also beautiful and awesome and full of wonder. Winter blankets the tender root, relaxes the urgency of growth, brings rest and renewal, and provides a time for reflection. All things are possible again, even wisdom, even understanding. It is the essential pause in the great , eternal rhythms of life.
