Description
A beautiful rock cliff in abstract beauty asserts its presence. We traveled last week to Hannibal Missouri and viewed the Mississippi from a high lookout which came complete with this very rock.

Love your sepia tones in your painting...wonderful abstract!
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Thanks, Marcia. This was based on a memory of an actual rock overlooking the Mississippi River at Hannibal.

This is so beautiful, Nancy! I love your description of this gallery. It is so important to teach children to love nature...our childhood experiences and fond memories are what make us care about the earth when we grow up! More kids need to get up and go outside!.......vf
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
What a lovely comment, Karen. I think the world now is not the safe place it was when I grew up. As children we all hiked in groups without adults along, carrying snacks up mountains in paper bags (no official hiking equipment needed) and so had hours of time to enjoy nature. Having an older brother and sister who let me go with them, I was quite young when this fun began.

Marvelous piece, Nancy! Just marvelous! Fav'd, liked, and tweeted!
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
I almost never use oils so I was surprised at the result. Many thanks, CJ for the tweet, too!

F/L This has the feel of sun-warmed rocks and deep drops = love it!
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
If mountains are favorites...rocks come in maybe second place...and then there's all that stuff on the forest floor.

Great job on this Nancy!
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
I wish I could include the photo of the cliff just like this I visited last weekend. I didn't even connect the two until I posted this on FAA. It had a view of the Mississippi River.
