The "beard" or "bell" hanging from his throat is believed to be used to attract a mate, by dispensing scents from the bulls urine, and saliva containing pheromones, during the mating season. This bull was seen on Guanella Pass, in Colorado. ''Consider the lillies ... Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.'' Luke 12:27. Welcome fellow travelers. Though originally from Illinois, Colorado has been home since 1959. Since, as a boy, I snapped my first photo, I have been captivated by the symphony of beauty, and intricate design which surrounds us.
