Description
Once spectacular, then abandoned, now restored to its former glory, the Texas and Pacific (T&P) Railway Terminal is one of the best examples of Art Deco Architecture in Fort Worth TX. The entire complex was designed in the Zigzag Moderne Style of Art Deco. The exterior features an eagle in a zigzag motif over the main entry. Even though the exterior is very elaborate, the interior passenger lobby and office building lobbies are even more spectacular. The lobby with its magnificent ceiling has been artfully restored. A recent plan converted the building into lofts for sale. The lofts opened in July of 2006. The Texas & Pacific Lofts have a great NY-SoHo style interior with original terrazzo flooring, high ceilings and lots of brick and exposed ductwork. The large windows in the units from the higher floors offer fantastic views of the downtown Fort Worth skyline.
