Description
Inspired by Botticelli's "Portrait of a Young Woman" circa 1480, this digitized pen and ink drawing is a humorous take on the realities of contemporary, representational art forever indebted to and dwarfed by the legacy of old masters. It is my self-portrait as merely a Jester in the hand of a Renaissance master. I am also alluding here to the performative aspects of one's identity and how it transcends and informs contemporary aesthetics.
