Simple silk screen image of the mountains in Montana with Native American village, horse and rider.
The Work Projects Administration (WPA) Poster Collection consists of vintage posters produced from 1936 to 1943 by various branches of the WPA. The posters were designed to publicize exhibits, community activities, theatrical productions, and health and educational programs in seventeen states and the District of Columbia, with the strongest representation from California, Illinois, New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. This was of one of the first U.S. Government programs to support the arts.
In preparing these digital images for posting here, I freshened colors, sharpened images and repaired flaws and damage such as stains, creases, tears and stray marks while trying not to change the intent of the original artist's vision.
These images are part of the public domain and about half are housed in the Library of Congress. Even though they were produced between 1936 and 1943, many have a very modern and contemporary feel and make great home and office accents. Please enjoy these images.Truly what was old is new again!
