Description
My latest vintage treasure is this 200 year old Royal Crown Derby Imari wear cup and saucer. It's hand painted using the Imari colours which were so fashionable in the Georgian period. Photographed with a pearl necklace and textures added.

A beautiful example of Ansel Adams' saying, "Great photos are made, not taken."!

I really like this, Jan - reminds me of my grandmother and our cuppa tea and chats... how lovely that you have been able to acquire the Royal Crown Derby Imari and such a lovely photo with the pearls and background ;)
Jan Bickerton replied:
Hi Claire, so glad this brought back some happy memories for you. I was born in Stoke on Trent, UK which was once known as The Potteries, home to the major manufacturers like Wedgewood and Spode. So China is in my blood. Thanks for your lovely comment.

Jan, I can see this image as a romantic book cover. Love the feminine qualities portrayed here, and it is wonderful with your added textures. Voted
Jan Bickerton replied:
Yes, you're right this was shot to offer to publishers as a book cover, but also as a way of showing love and respect to a favourite cup and saucer. Thanks very much Cheri, I really appreciate your support :)
