Description
This is a dramatic moment in casting. The arc furnace has heated the steel to almost 3000 degrees, and the batch has passed the metallurgic tests. The crane man lowers the ladle into a big pit in front of the furnace, and the whole furnace is tipped to pour the white hot metal into the ladle. The Melter is directing the crane man from his booth, as the ladle man and assistant wait for their duties when the ladle is raised. I like how the supervisor planted himself with arms crossed, watching the whole scene with pride.
